Meet Dr. Kristen Kemp Valentin, PT, DPT, OCS

A high school sports injury altered the trajectory of my life. I achieved a lifelong dream and committed to play soccer at Wake Forest University, but during my senior high school season, I tore my ACL. My rehabilitation was a long and arduous journey that was challenging both physically and mentally. I was able to play four years as a Demon Deacon, compete in four NCAA tournaments, and play alongside some of the best athletes in my sport; but returning to that level was not without its challenges. This experience transformed my perspective on the importance of the right medical team and inspired me to pursue a career in physical therapy.

Throughout my career, I have seen firsthand how our current system prevents patients from receiving timely and comprehensive care. Waiting to see a physician, schedule imaging, receive a diagnosis, obtain a referral, and then finally see a physical therapist can be a lengthy and costly process. I leverage my 15 years of experience working in both orthopedic private practice and at an elite sports medicine clinic to aid my patients in their recovery and improve their quality of life. As a musculoskeletal expert, I am in a unique position to evaluate and treat injuries and/or pain without a physician referral, order imaging if indicated, and leverage existing relationships to refer patients to the appropriate provider when necessary.

I am committed to getting to know each of my patients on a personal level to understand their unique challenges and goals. I believe that the greatest thing healthcare providers can do for their patients is to LISTEN and allow adequate TIME to address their concerns.

KVPT has been a dream of mine for many years, and I hope you will find my practice to be the home you are looking for to care for your family. Whether you are a high level athlete, weekend warrior, busy business professional, or stay at home parent caring for your family, I am honored to be part of your health and wellness journey!
